Fight Back mobile app launched by Whypoll for women safety

 Whypoll, a non-profit organization had launched an innovative smartphone app, "Fight Back" for the women to immediately alert friends or family if they feel at risk. This app will allows women to send SOS message via SMS, e-mail and Facebook  with - the press of a single key. 
Once the SOS is activated, recipients will be able to track the sender's location via GPS and will come to help them. User are allowed to add message recipients, whom thy trusts. It allows to add the numbers of the police as well.

The app, is currently available to Delhi users at Rs 100 a year and will be launched for nine mores cities in following year. The app is designed to work with Nokia, Samsung, HTC and BlackBerry smartphones. It presently supporting the English language, but in near future it will add the support for the  other languages (Indian languages).
Whypoll co-founder Hindol Sengupta, tell that users can also opt  to include a number of the Delhi police in their SOS shortlist,
"Indians depend far more on their near and dear ones because we don't trust the system to help us," Sengupta told AFP.
Furtheger he added "Once you send the SOS, your friends and family will take it up with the police and pressure them into doing something." Though there are many things that didn't told  e.g "how police will handle the message?"

The app is supposed to be inspiration of a year old, product 'HarassMap' launched in Egypt. You can find more information about the Fight back apps and download it at here.
