Aloo Gobi (Potato Cauliflower) is one of the favourite recipe of all. It is one of special recipe for the people who loves eating Aloo (Potato).Today I am going to present a Simple Recipe for Aloo Gobi (Potato Cauliflower), specially for the students who want to cook himself and want to enjoy the food like it made from the their mother's.
This simple recipe is easy to cook but take a little time only for boiling the aloo. There are not much ingredient to be use in this just normal spices. Let's Cook this up-
Ingredient for Aloo Gobi (Potato Cauliflower)
- Aloo - 2 medium sized
- Gobi - a small sized
- Onion - 3-4 medium size
- Tomato - 2 medium size
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red Chillies Powder -1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander Powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin Powder or Cumin seeds
- Ginger Garlic Paste - 1/4 teaspoon
Method for Cooking Aloo Gobi (Potato Cauliflower)
Take the Gobi (cauliflower) cut it into smaller piece not so small but little one so it boiled easily. Do same for the Aloo (potato), make the cube piece but removing the outer layer from it before cutting into smaller pieces.
In a pan boil the Aloo for about 10 -20 depends on the size you made. Boil it until the potatoes are getting little smashed on pressure. Remove the water and take the potato away from it. Also boil the cauliflower till it look a par less than boiled. Take care of the cauliflower and take it away in time else all of them will mesh like puree.
Preparation for the Onion and Tomato Puree
Sparingly cut the onions into small pieces. Put oil in the pan heat it for a minute. Add the cumin seed if you not using the cumin powder. Now add the onions all of them and stir it for a long time. If you are using cooker, keep the lid down and cook the onions for 1-2 whistle on low flames. Cook the onion s until the stirs apart and then crush them to make like paste. Do same to the tomato which you need to splits in very tiny pieces. Cook the tomato and onions and make a great puree. This will serves as good gravy. If you have good paste the flavour or taste will be better.
Now we are close to our cooking of Aloo Gobi (Potato Cauliflower). Add all the spices (Turmeric Powder, Red Chillies Powder, Coriander Powder, Garam masala Powder, Cumin Powder,Ginger Garlic Paste) to the paste we have made. Mixed them well, cook them for 5 minutes until they became brown. Also add salt to the mixture, stir them well so all we have a great gravy paste. Add the both Aloo and Gobi to the gravy and the stir them. Cook for 5-6 minutes stir them time to time, if the gravy is getting sticky add little water else stir them. As now we see the mixture has fully cooked add water if you want some fluid gravy else take it as it is. Garnish the Aloo Gobi (Potato Cauliflower) with Coriander leaves taking it from the flames.
