INDIA to host 2016 World Twenty20

INDIA is going to host the 2016 World Twenty20 as well as the 2021 World Test Championship and 2023 World Cup. This was set in the ICC Tournaments which will be held between 2016-2023.


Champions Trophy Will now be replace by World Test Championship, this is done ensure the balance between the three formats of the game over a four-year period.

Major decision taken by ICC-

• World Test Championship replace the Champions Trophy, held every four year.
• World Twenty20 will now be held once every four years instead of two year in current.
• In a cycle of 4 year period, each teams will now have to play a minimum of 16 Tests.
• If ball changed 5 penalty run will be awarded. 
• New rule will come from 1st October 2013.
