Amazon buys robot maker Kiva System for $775M

Amazon, the online retailer giant today buys Robot manufacturer  Kiva System with a huge amount of $775 millions. This deal will faster the process of Shipping the items for Amazon who shipped more than $4 billion worth items last year.

Kiva System manufactures robots and other sophisticated control software that performs the works of  a man like moving items thus reduces the costs of labours as well as processing time. In the videos below how the process is carried out with the Kiva's Robotic system.


“Amazon has long used automation in its fulfillment centers, and Kiva’s technology is another way to improve productivity by bringing the products directly to employees to pick, pack and stow,” said Amazon VP of Global Customer Fulfillment Dave Clark in a statement.

While the  transaction goes on, the existing customer of Kiva will get support and the services.
