Advertiser to keep away from crickets

After a poor performance by team INDIA in Test matches series in Australia, not only fans are unhappy but commercial companies as well. INDIAN cricket team who performed disastrously became source of jokes by people. To add to this more worst thing is going with them. Advertiser companies now looking now non-cricketers for the promotion of products.

Advertisers opting out from cricketers

The Television industry is also getting less viewers as cricket fan didn't want to watch humiliation of team INDIA. The TRP is getting downing in by alomost 20% on average. According to Cricinfo, the TPRs for the first two Tests were 0.89 and 0.70 which quite less in compared to 1.07 and 1.30 in 2007-08, the previous tour.

Advertiser are sure that the advertisement rate will go down in upcoming series and more advertiser will not prefer to have crickets as brand ambassadors for their products. Sponsors are pulling the ads of cricketers from been advertised and opting for others. Market sure not much favorable for the cricketers advertisement and it looks like even in T20 or ODI series if INDIA didn't do well then nobody will save these cricketers who will loss fans support as well as their money what they are getting from advertisers.

Mind set of pople may changes if INDIA do well in fast versions of cricket but it unlike that the rate of advertisement will go high. Many of the advertiser are planning to cut the price of advertisement. What you people think will INDIA stand to improve the rate of ads, which they love more than cricket?

  1. Very interesting perspective that lays bare the truly commercial nature of contemporary cricket formats. Though the performance of the team was truly poor, it is TRPs and ad revenue that is worrying people more. Pretty sad day for the art of cricket.

    1. Since people are are not watching cricket anymore, as of poor performance by team INDIA, advertisers loosing thus they are looking for alternative options
