Skype to be acquire by Microsoft for $8.5 billion

Microsoft will acquire Skype for a very large amount of $8.5 billion. This is one of the biggest deal in the history of the Technology business. Microsoft trying every thing to get more user online and expert says that it is one of their defensive move from the like of Google, Facebook and Apple. This bid of price deal tag is much high for the company which is going in loss and had seen many owner in short life time. Skype will be one of the Microsoft business division. Skype will help Microsoft to have new user in Window online office and the Xbox as well as in window live messenger.

History of Skype ownership
  • Skype was found in 2003
  • In 2005 acquired by eBay for $2.6 billion.
  • In November 2009, an investor group led by Silver Lake, and includes Andreessen Horowitz, the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), Joltid Limited and founders Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis acquired 70 percent of the company with the deal of  $2.75 billion.
